Dorell Sports - Dubai

"The" wall where most of the Dubai climbers hang out (see the Sorbonne wall for Abu Dhabi climbers). Unfortunately, it's outside, which makes the heat a limiting factor.

Adventure HQ

Opened June 2011 with a climbing wall and high ropes. Has possibly the best selection and a neatly organized selection of gear, from ropes and harnesses to cams and slacklines. The climbing wall is all about autobelays and jugs, geared towards families and children.
Location: Times Square Dubai

Phone: 800 ADVENTURE (800 238368873)

Seems targeted at kids. There is one guy who runs the wall who is on vacation for two weeks, so nobody can climb. =P

Day Pass: N/A, full annual membership required (3100 AED+)
Hours: 2-3p on weekends (??)

American Community School

Location: Abu Dhabi
This is a private wall. Nothing terribly exciting to see or climb. If you want access you'll have to find someone affiliated with the school.

Paris-Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi

Location: Abu Dhabi
This is a pretty decent Walltopia climbing wall in the gymnasium of Paris-Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi that "opened" in 2012. Most of the Abu Dhabi crowd hangs out here rather than driving all the way to Dubai. Unfortunately, daily passes are not available, but access is rather done on a semi-annual subscription model. Contact Theo Giani for details. Unfortunately, public access is closed as of 2015.
Wall height: 9 m

Dorell Sports - Al Ain

Location: Al Ain Equestrian and Shooting Club.
Day Pass: 60 AED
Hours: check schedule and call ahead
Phone: 03 702 6437

Outdoors

The map offers a list of most of the crags, along with links to associated topos if available.

Access

Access to outdoor walls is an issue across much of the world. There aren't any organizations in the UAE dedicated to access; it is mostly done on an ad-hoc basis. Rules change all the time here. As of early 2013, the most tricky areas to access are in the Dibba area. Ask around for the current situation.

Wonderwall: Access through the Hili border post. Free for people with residence visas (don't get a stamp going out or coming in). Persons holding tourist visas will need to get stamped out and going in.
